Course Overview

Gain your REGT1 qualification in the installation, testing, and commissioning of domestic medium pressure meter regulators and controls. This ACS course covers tightness testing, purging, and emergency procedures for medium pressure gas meter installations.

  • Ensure learners understand the requirements for installing, exchanging, and removing domestic medium pressure regulators and controls
  • Develop the practical skills needed to safely commission medium pressure meter installations
  • Build competence in tightness testing and purging of medium pressure meter systems
  • Ensure learners can check and set meter regulation using suitable test apparatus
  • Develop understanding of lock-up, pressure relief, and slam-shut settings
  • Ensure learners understand relevant gas safety legislation, including the Gas Safety (Installation & Use) Regulations 1998
  • Build knowledge of the Gas Industry Unsafe Situations Procedure and correct emergency labelling
  • Prepare learners for both the theory and practical elements of ACS assessment

This course is aimed at gas operatives who need to install, exchange, remove, and commission domestic medium pressure meter regulators and controls, typically where a supply exceeds 75 millibar but does not exceed 2 bar. Learners must hold one of the following core qualifications: Core Domestic Gas Safety (CCN1), Core Domestic and Non-Domestic Emergency Service Gas Work (CESP1), Core Domestic and Non-Domestic Gas Metering Work (CMA1), Domestic Natural Gas Meter Installer (CMA3), or Specific Limited Scope Core for Meter Installers (CMA2LS), alongside valid domestic gas meter qualifications such as MET1, MET2, or MET3LS.
