• Preparing to enter and work safely in a high risk confined space
• Correct procedures for entering and exiting confined spaces through non-standard access points
• Preparation and use of respiratory protective equipment (RPE) for working and escape
• Safe use of specialist tools and equipment in high risk confined space environments
• Recognising and responding to emergencies where rescue and recovery is more difficult
• Practical demonstration and written test assessment preparation

This course is aimed at operatives who need to enter and work in confined space environments with non-standard entries, where rescue may be more difficult. It’s suited to those progressing from low and medium risk confined space work, and provides a foundation for those wishing to move into entry control, supervisory, or specialist rescue and recovery roles.

Learners must be aged 16 or over to undertake assessment, though in practice most learners are already employed and aged 18 and over.
