Course Overview

Gain your BMP1 (formerly CBHP1) qualification in the commissioning, servicing, and repair of medium pressure commercial gas boosters. This ACS course covers associated controls, pipework, and safe working procedures for commercial gas installations.

  • Understand the requirements for commissioning medium pressure commercial gas boosters
  • Develop the practical skills needed to safely service and repair commercial gas boosters following breakdown
  • Build competence in working with associated booster controls and pipework up to 0.5 bar pressure
  • Understand relevant gas safety legislation, warning labels and industry standards
  • Reinforce safe isolation and working procedures for commercial gas booster installations
  • Develop the ability to identify and respond to faults and unsafe situations
  • Prepare learners for both the practical and theoretical elements of ACS assessment
  • Support experienced operatives in extending their scope of competence within commercial gas work
  • Checking gas supply is adequate
  • Base/bed or platform meets requirements

This course is aimed at experienced operatives who already hold either a Core Commercial Gas Safety (COCN1) or Changeover Domestic to Commercial Gas Safety (CODNCO1) qualification and want to extend their competence to include medium pressure commercial gas boosters. Learners must also hold ICPN1 where the associated pipework diameter exceeds 50mm. It’s particularly suited to those working across larger commercial gas installations where booster systems are used to maintain adequate supply pressure.
